Dr Bodie R. Dorrance BSc, DC
Doctor of Chiropractic
Certified Postural Neurologist
Dr Bodie R. Dorrance, a native of Sault Ste. Marie, Canada, came to Cork in 2014, attracted by the clinic’s outstanding reputation and purpose-driven leadership.
Dr Bodie’s influences from chiropractic have spanned his entire lifetime beginning as a toddler suffering from severe back and hip pain and barely being able to stand. His mother’s friend suggested chiropractic adjustments, which corrected the true underlying cause of the problem and miraculously cured the condition despite months of unsuccessful traditional medical care. Dr Bodie graduated as Valedictorian of his high school class, Student’s Council President and the city’s Top Male Athlete in 1986. He earned a Scholarship to Queen’s University of Canada then matriculated at Northwestern College of Chiropractic in the United States.
During his university career, he enjoyed varsity sports playing Canadian football as a wide receiver for the Queen’s Golden Gaels still holding the record for the longest punt return (96 metres) in Queen’s history. Furthermore, he was a proud recipient of the Canadian Youth Medal for spearheading fundraising for famine relief in Ethiopia.
Upon graduation, he began clinical chiropractic practice in North Carolina with a strong focus on personal injury, rehabilitation and family practice. While maintaining his own busy practice he assisted dozens of young aspiring chiropractors acting as mentor and coach while they transitioned from school. He has been licensed as a Doctor of Chiropractic in Canada, the United States and Germany and is a member of the Chiropractic Association of Ireland. Dr Bodie has immersed himself over the years in on-going post-graduate study and recently became one of Ireland’s first Certified Postural Neurologists.
Dr Bodie is an avid sports fan, has run in numerous road races including marathons, is a Taekwondo Black Belt and was the North Carolina State Mixed Martial Arts sparring Champion in 2002. He enjoys language study and can speak conversational German and French. His daughter is enrolled at Christ King Secondary School and along with his wife are excited to make Cork their home.
